So, what a is a girl to say about one of the happiest days of her life: too short, too sweet, and too much fun!we flew into Salt Lake City, UT and met up with John's sister Am to drive to Hurricane, UT. there i met grandparents Po, grandma Sh, and to confirm reception plans. the next day John and i went to St. George, UT for the license and Costco to order reception food.
my parents and diana came the next day. i spent that night with them in a hotel on the way to St. George. it was nice with John's family, but i wanted mine. all of my sisters flew in too late for a bachlorette party, but more planning for the reception was done. diana was great and at least i got a sash and crown for the night.
i went to bed thinking i was so tired, but still nervous about the next day. i wasn't questioning my choice but it was a big decision. it was so nice having all my immediate family there.
i awoke that morning kinda late and had to hurry to shave, poop, and get my wedding dress pressed for later. i basically left my family to fend for themselves and went to my nails appointment. i do remember the light being out in my bathroom that i had to use my brother's hotel room to shower. it was fun commotion all morning.
i met diana at the nail salon. her appointmet was already started as i was running late. it was a good time and we caught up while there. i had not seen her in a long time and i was SO happy she was there. even if she couldn't go into the actual wedding it was nice to have her presence there. after i had my hair appointment in St. George. my dad dropped me off and then drove back to get everyone else to the temple. 'make sure people look nice' i said as he left. the girl who did my hair was John's step cousin. it was an educational salon so it seemed to take awhile, but fun as i took pictures. i didn't have any time left to eat or finish my make-up when mom showed up with my pre-dress to get me to the temple. dad got burger king and came back for us. when we pulled up to the temple dad yelled out 'there's John'. i looked up to see him walking into the temple and knew deep in my soul that this was a good decision. 'yes, i am getting married today'....then i saw him walk out of the temple and drive off...weird. his mom was still there so i knew he wasn't bailing, but it made me nervous. as i walked up his mom was all smiles and laughs so i knew things were ok. he just forgot his recommend! what a day to forget... because of that i got time to get my wedding dress approved by the temple matron, finish my make-up, and get my veil and jewelry from my sister Sa.
Kr and Sa were late too, so it all worked out, but hair wasn't done and they still needed make-up... oh yeah, none of their dresses matched and Sa didn't even have one but something my mom threw together hours before... if i wasn't in a good mood from my car revelation, i would have turned godzilla-bride on Em who was in charge of bridesmaid dresses. of all the things i had to deal with i forgot to double check on what they were wearing. i still fume about it sometime looking over pictures.
John arrived eventually and we got started. i was excited to see him and we were rushed to sit at the recorder's desk. paperwork held us up and signing everything so we had sometime to confirm we both wanted to continue and get things going. all i can remember is that he looked so good and i was so happy! we parted ways and we both changed into white clothes. i got to wear my wedding dress with a long sleeve jacket and my mom was there to help get me ready in my own special Bride's room. i saw John again when we met with the sealer briefly and walked into the Celestial room and up steps to our Sealing room. how beautiful it was, but details i do not remember. we need to return and do a session at that temple just so i can get a good reminder. i do remember crying and John getting me tissues. i do remember kneeling and saying yes and everyone else in white. i do remember the rings and the band with a heart. i do remember hugs and congrats and leaving the room last. i do remember parting ways to get ready for outside. being married and mom putting Sa's veil on. i remember walking out and cheers and more hugs. everyone changed already and Gi taking pictures. i remember the weather was perfect. i remember that our party was small but close friends, and all were happy!
