so the DAY AFTER i got back and was heading to work, i knew something was up with me. i was feeling sick that whole morning and even put a bag in the car in case i threw up. i made it to work, but felt crappy the whole day. i also felt foggy and just not with it (which can be pretty scary dealing with health care and patients!!). i was able to deal ok, but just didn't feel like myself at all. i felt horrible every morning and never wanted to eat anything in fear i would throw it up. after about three weeks of feeling this way and two failed home prego tests, i e-mailed my primary care for a blood test. it was positive and finally i found out i was pregnant.
finding an OB/mid-wife/whoever!! - so as my primary care was not an OB, i had to find one. i got a good referral from ladies at church BUT her office manager wouldn't take my insurance! man, my husband is gone serving our country, i am an emotional prego lady, and you say you won't take my military insurance!! i was so upset looking but eventually got ahold of the Mid-Wives at Mount Auburn... more natural, against c-sections or drugs, more into breastfeeding, and connecting with your baby after. when i finally talked to a person that said YES to my insurance...well, i was overjoyed and my first appts (without john) went pretty well. my mid-wife couldn't find baby S's heartbeat so i had my first ultrasound around 9 weeks. meet baby S!
birthday - my 30th rolled around, it wasn't as sucky as i was picturing because i ended up inviting people over for dinner and cooking for them! it was nice just to have people in my house again! i still can't believe i am 30.
halloween: so i found a cute way to tell people at work and church i was prego. my boss already knew but the oto docs, nurses, speechies, and support staff didn't. i wore this shirt to work and to our ward's trunk or treat. it was so much fun to show it off and wear. it took people a while to truely connect the two. everyone asked "does that mean..?" and i would simply say YES! how fun it was! i also found out a fellow Audiologist was prego too...another two Au.Ds prego - my boss flipped!
john's return - john came home right before thanksgiving. again i saw the people who i met when the crew left, but this time we were waiting for them to return. there was a buzz of excitment in the air AND camera's AND little kids with signs AND van's...again john was the load planner and had already arranged for other crew to take the gear and reservists home. alot of people were awaiting their return. it felt like we were waiting forever. i mostly hung out with the XOs wife - we met on our ride home. i was excited to tell her i was prego. it was nice to chatt with her and hear about how much she missed her husband too. it reminded me that i am not the only one in this situation. then, just a simple bus pulled up and they arrived. tears, hugs all around, and congrats, and job-well-done! it was a good night, i was able to come in late to work the next morning and it was hard to leave him. i planned an awesome weekend so i was looking forward to that. my baby was home...
car accident - so the weekend i had planned didn't work out. a drunk lady hit our corolla on the way...dinah, baby, me, and john were just fine but the car Abbie wasn't. eventually found she was totalled and just paid off too! john spent his first week home dealing with insurance, accident reporting, and searching for a new car.... what a time to spend home huh?we got to spend the holidays together... but sorry, yet another post!!

Its fun to tread all about life for you in Boston. You will be so glad that you kept this record. Your baby will too! Love you! I can't believe that car was totaled. It looks fine to me. Glad that you were safe!
